TGIF, July 3rd, 2026

Nice morning.  Around 10, the electric went out.  As I sat on the sofa, I realized how great this country is.  Though the A/C was off, it still felt great inside.  This house does stay cool.  Good insulation, I am sure.  Though how other people, other countries don't have it as nice.  Thank, God for America.  Well, just another day.  Did put my old computer together on the dining room table.  Great having a big table to work on.  Think I might set it up in the back room and make another office there.  Get my little turn tables set up and start some videoing of my rocks and other items.  Will see.  YES, The Mutt is OK.  Use to have three treats for him but finished one up and don't think I will be getting that one anymore.  This morning, I gave him one of the other two and he wouldn't eat it.  Thought he had to go outside, so walked to the door.  No, he wanted the other treat, Bacon Beggin' strips (regular and cheese; I don't try separating them, haha).  What a bum.  He did eat his regular dog food last night, after several days of it just sitting there.  So, he had his regular dog food for this morning with one of his treats in it and I gave him Beggin' strips besides.  The PIG.  He is my watch dog, hahahaha.  Yeah, right.  Later.  My machine is a gaming machine and so is my monitor.  Discovering all the settings to watch for: gaming vs. regular use.  Can make a difference.  Changed one little setting which I probably changed months and months ago and my display is a lot better with the black color.  Still setting up minor stuff, made a minor change to my bios.  So many little settings, ugh, haha.  So many apps that do basically the same thing with little difference for gaming vs. regular use, or just use my device, my monitor itself.  Or some other app.  Ugh.  Just going to use my monitor button to change my display's brightness and contrast.  Keep it simple stupid (KISS) principle.  Back to it, haha.  Me, again.  Worked with some settings and stuff with my programs and Windows.  AI really helps a lot.  Not perfect, but quick results.  Has been a nice day.  Thought about Janet and how I don't mind helping her sister when I can.  They were so close.  Sure it is making Janet happy.  Came across some photos last night which I haven't seen in awhile.  Months and months ago I wanted to find the name of the ship Hoot served on.  He had a big photo of it framed, but I couldn't find it.  Well, the photos were of Robyn doing an interview about the photo on the news.  She put it on eBay I think.  Someone bought it, I think, let her keep it.  Anyway, in one photo I found the name of the ship, U.S.S. Helm.  Interesting history.  Use to have a video of the interview but don't anymore.  Anyway, hope the photo hasn't been lost, but Penelope probably wouldn't be too interested in it, but who knows.  I took the flag out of the shed and put it on the porch.  The best I can do.  Maybe by next year, I will put it on a flagpole or something.  Will see.  Chance is a good watch dog.  Yeah, right.  Well, let me work on some photos.  Read some news and play around with the computer later.  Fine turning some things.  Would be amazed all the different formats, settings, and other stuff with programs, apps, Windows, and devices, etc.  And there is even more with your other operating systems, ugh.  Later.  Photos done.  Hope your TGIF was great and that tomorrow, the 4th, is even greater.  Be safe, take care.  God bless.  Have a great night, sleep tight and don't let the fireworks fall on you, sweetest of dreams.  Have a great weekend.  

Thursday, July 2nd

Slept OK.  Watching the time and stuff for my doctor's appointment.  Dealt with The Mutt, did some computer stuff.  Noticed last night that the panels for my blood work were different than the last one.  So made a list of them.  Sure something was wrong.  Was wanting to see what my triglycerides were but there were none in the panels.  Waited my time out and left for my appointment.  Got there right on time to the minute almost.  Checked in and sat down.  Didn't wait the longest.  Waited longer in the doctor's room.  He came in saying hello and sitting.  Thought I would beat him to the punch and stated the fact my sugars were high and I haven't exercised or walked regular for months.  He took it all in without a concern.  He mentioned my numbers were OK, some higher a little, some lower, nothing bad.  I mentioned the panels and no tri's and he told me why the panels were different and he wasn't concerned about tri's.  He mentioned they were kinda crazy their ups and downs.  Took my blood pressure, some device, not cuffs like normal.  Checked my feet.  Blood flowing well.  Basically, things went fine.  Except he wanted me back in October instead of December to check things.  He is retiring in December, so October will probably be the last time I see him if I start taking care of myself.  I mentioned I might try finding someone need where I live but it is difficult finding anyone that is any good.  He agreed.  Will have a name for someone at his clinic next time.  Probably will find someone nearer home that can prescribe me the medicine.  Won't expect more.  It all went fine.  Went back home.  No need to stop anywhere.  There wasn't suppose to be any rain this week but rained earlier at home and then when I was driving back home.  Staying inside as normal.  Do have to decide a plan for getting back into exercising.  Or not.  Haha.  Do have a good night, take care, be safe.  Dream well.  Had a wild one last night.  God bless.  "Good Will Hunting".  Yes, The Mutt is driving me crazy.  Ugh.

Wednesday, July 1st

Nice day, but hot.  Decided to burn my boxes and paper stuff this morning.  Got lawn mower and wagon and picked up the stuff at my porch.  Got it burning and decided I would cut a little grass in the front of the house.  It was hot, but a dry heat.  Took awhile cutting the grass.  Think I have been leaving the gas can tops loose, so condensation probably has been getting water droplets in my gas cans.  The lawn mower would ride fine for awhile and then sputter.  Eventually, got the front cut.  Went inside.  Decided to go to Walmart to get some stuff for the lawn mower.  At least, I learned to tighten my gas can tops, haha.  Got home and on the computer.  Showed 100 degree at the house, probably a little lower, but high 90's.  Gotta dreaded going back outside.  Playing with some widgets on my desktop, one being weather.  Showed .22 inches of precipitation for the day.  Said no chance of rain for the whole week, so what is .22 inches, nothing.  So back to dreading going back outside.  Then, start hearing some tingling on the roof and realized it was a little rain, then the dog started getting bothers,  Next thing I know, it is thundering.  Dog is bothered more.  So decided to lay down a little.  Kept raining and thundering but dog settled down.  Guess I ended up taking a small, nice nap, haha.  Thank you, God, haha.  Just hope the grass doesn't grow too high, haha.  Been wanting to send something to Penelope, but don't know if she is in CA or not.  Assume she won't be back until school starts again.  Who knows?  Not me, hehe.  Will wait until after summer.  People.  The coconut water I like was on sale at Sam's.  Got two cases.  A $1 a bottle.  My limit on drinks, haha.  Something different.  You all have a great night.  Have a wonderful sleep and pleasant dreams.  Oh, my sugar was high but most of the other numbers were OK.  Guess excise has something to do with keeping my sugar down.  Couple of panels with results aren't showing.  Guess my triglycerides are high, too.  My legs, knees, and feet are doing great and I don't feel bad, so.  We will see.  Have had worse numbers in the past.  Take care, be safe.  God bless.  It is what it is.

Tuesday, June 30

Still up tonight, this morning.  Working on getting things the way I had them on my old computer and better.  Learning a lot of new stuff, remembering some recently learned stuff from before, remembering some old stuff from years ago, like DOS.  Microsoft and Windows doesn't make things always the easiest.  Changing some of their defaults to my personal folders, whew, got into security settings which I just learned recently and relying on my old memory, whew, but got her done I hope.  Then, there is OneDrive - Personal and OneDrive - BRCC.  Whew, syncing, settings, whew.  Think things are pretty well caught up which is a surprise.  Thought I lost a ton of document files, but  finally, remembered I had backups of most of them, WHEW!  Was surprised I wasn't bothered too much when I thought I lost them.  Guess I am maturing a little now.  God, took me a lot of years, haha.  Gotta start working on a project I have in mind, gotta get something ready for the 4th, and work on my stream dock, basically pressing buttons on a dock instead of using my keyboard and mouse, hopefully saving time.  Will see.  Guess back to it.  Oh, the Mutt is sleeping pretty good.  He keeps my pillow warm, haha.  Later.  Haven't slept yet, past noon.  Have a great graphic card on my computer, which is nice, but to make sure it is used for the appropriate programs you can let Microsoft decide to use it or the integrated GPU on the motherboard, which isn't appropriate for the more advance graphic programs, or set it to use the more advanced discrete GPU (Nvidia 5070 Ti - 16GB ram).  It isn't the best card but a pretty good one.  Great for what I will be using it for.  16GB ram is pretty great for a graphic card.  Anyway, isn't the easiest to to find the application files and setting them to use the advanced card.  Took  a nice while.  Hope to get a little sleep soon.  Later.  On a small break from my 3 hours sleep up and down.  Sleeping pattern so screwed up again.  Oh, well.  Just have to work on it again.  Big surprise, haha.  Enjoying my photo frame.  Time to end the break for another 3 hours sleep.  You all take care, be safe.  God bless.  Guess will check on the Mutt first. 

Monday, June 29th

Gave some blood, today, for blood work for Thursday's doctor's appointment.  My diabetes doctor.  Last night I had to start fasting.  Was pushing it to the limit start the fasting and still be able to get in to give blood before noon.  Suddenly, the lights went out, literally.  God cut the switch, haha.  Around 10, electric went out.  So, went to bed.  Lights were on when I woke.  Luckily, I didn't eat anything.  Finally remembered I was fasting.  Anyway, waited it out until it was time to leave.  Everything went well.  Traffic was nice.  Sure numbers won't be too great, but it doesn't matter.  Gotta take care of myself for myself since I don't have anyone else.  Guess, at least, to outlast the mutt.  Stopped at Sam's and God pulled another joke on me.  Waited for a car to leave.  When it left, I pulled up to the first pump.  There was an orange cone in front of the pump.  No signs are nothing.  Put my cards in and got ready to pump the gas and the nozzle wasn't there.  The hose was wrapped higher up and no nozzle.  I chuckled.  One thing about shopping, don't go shopping on an empty stomach.  Did get a little more than I needed.  My knees, legs, and feet are doing great.  Walking near normal with the foot I have.  Taking it slow hoping not to pop something.  Yes, The Mutt is doing great.  Sacked out on the bed.  Movies, computer stuff, class work, same old, same old.  Loving my new computer.  Have a video in mind to test it out, but not tonight, haha.  Did think, "If you forget someone you knew in the past, is it like they never existed???"  Do have a nice night.  Sleep well, dream well.  Take care, be safe.  God bless.  

Saturday into Sunday, 6-27-28-26

 YES, Chance is good.  Saturday, waited half the day waiting for my new computer to come it.  Not top of the line, but pretty close.  For me, overkill by leap and bounds, but I am enjoying myself with a little hair pulling, haha.  It was suppose to come in between 10:00 and 2:00, but you never know, so I stayed up in the morning.  It came in around 11:00.  I have things set up on my dining room table.  Nice having a big table and two extra monitors and one extra keyboard and mouse with a new set coming in.  So, basically, just had to unplug devices from my old computer and move it to my table where I set it up.  When I got the package, little heavier than what I thought it might me, I unpacked it and started setting it up.  Everything went fine, basically a clean slate.  Got the system set up, then moved the HDD drives (2) and an SSD drive in the old computer to the new one.  Moved the memory from my old one (64GB) to the new one.  And prayed it would work.  Took a hiccup for the new computer to recognize the increased memory (from 16) but after the hiccup it went well.  It was near 1:30 and I had to get ready to go to my brother's place.  Got invited to the "Shriek the Musical" at the Beau Rivera Casino in Biloxi.  Got the new computer set by my desk.  Got ready.  Nice to see my niece again, she was in from San Antonio.  Nice ride to MS.  Great show.  Really surprised a little bit.  Thought it would be more for young children, but it was pretty balanced, and I think, more for the adults.  Nice ride back home.  If I am not driving and we don't get caught in traffic, then it is nice, haha.  Drove home and started working on the computer.  Got the basics working first and then started adding the devices along with putting my programs on it.  Will be a new start for most of the programs.  Still a bunch to put on, some with licenses.  Whew, my video program license wouldn't work at first, but finally did.  I was sweating.  Wasn't going to buy another copy, too expensive.  Whew, thought I didn't connect a couple of devices but they were in another way than I thought, so a refresher, haha, of how they are set up and The Mutt had to do a sight seeing tour outside, the bum.  Guess I am taking a breath to catch where I am at and what to do next.  Have my main photo and video editors setup and my video recorder.  Webcams are working great.  Maybe a little breakfast and some more work while "watching" a movie.  Still see scenes I never saw before, heard but not seen.  Haha.  Had time to snap a couple of photos of lilies.  Have a great Sunday, take care, be safe God bless.  Writing this on Blogger, but just going to copy and past to FB.  Just as easy.  Do enjoy His day.
